Call for Ideas

How can we promote ESL week in our community? TESL Windsor-Essex is actively seeking creative ideas for ESL week.

ESL week will be the held the week of November 18-27th. It is a national event.  In the past, we have had the City of Windsor make a proclamation of ESL week. We will continue to do this; however, this year we want to ramp things up.

Our goals are:

• to improve visibility of TESL Windsor and the work that we do
• to engage the media (i.e. radio, TV, news, social media)
• to showcase the talent in our affiliate
• to improve visibility and enhance positive recognition of ESL teachers in Windsor-Essex
• to create understanding of the importance of our work in our community
• to create compassion and understanding of our learners and their cultures
• to showcase the learning that happens in our classrooms

Please share any creative idea that you might have of how we might achieve these goals.  Our plan is to hold our Fall 2016 Workshop at the beginning of ESL week and it could be the place for the event/idea to happen or could be the culminating day of a series of events held next fall.  We are open to all suggestions and ideas.
