Conestoga IELTS Test Centre is actively recruiting qualified ESL/EFL professionals to join our growing team of IELTS Examiners in Calgary, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Windsor and Montreal.
The Minimum Professional Requirements (MPRs) for this part-time contract position include an undergraduate degree AND one of the following:
□ TEFL/TESOL qualification (minimum certificate level) from a recognized institution
□ EFL/ESOL related studies completed as part of an undergraduate/post-graduate award course from a recognized institution (minimum certificate level equivalent)
□ Degree in Education (with a focus on ESL and if supported by an undergraduate degree which includes studies focused on English language at point 1 above)
Duties & Responsibilities:
Qualified candidates will be trained and certified as IELTS Examiners with the opportunity to examine in Conestoga’s IELTS test locations.
IELTS Examiners are expected to be sensitive to cultural differences and to treat others with respect at all times. Confidentiality, professionalism, flexibility and excellent communication skills are also essential.
A minimum of three years full-time relevant teaching experience (or equivalent part-time) is also required. The majority of this teaching experience must relate to adults (students 16 years and over).
Individuals for whom English is not their first language must possess a language proficiency of IELTS Band 9 in both Speaking and Writing.

HOURLY RATE: $23.37 to $24.84 per hour plus 4% vacation pay
SUMMARY: LINC Home Study is a self-paced distance language training program for newcomers to Canada who are unable to attend classes in person due to extenuating circumstances such as lack of childminding services, lack of transportation, etc. Eligible newcomers enrol in the program to obtain/improve the English language skills required to function in Canadian society. Instructors deliver weekly instructional sessions by phone or VOIP, as well as monitor and facilitate students’ independent study. Instructors work remotely.
